Utilization formula is used to calculate the percentage of time a resource is used. Manpower formula is used to calculate the number of employees needed for a project.

Utilization formula: Utilization = (Actual hours worked / Total available hours) x 100%
Manpower formula: Manpower = (Total work hours / Available work hours) x Number of employees needed
Example: If a resource works 40 hours out of 50 available hours, the utilization would be (40/50) x 100% = 80%
Example: If a project requires 1000 work hours and each employee can work 8 hours a day for 20 days, the manpower needed would be (1000 / (8 x 20)) x 2 = 12.5 employees
