Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - The interview did not happen. I selected 12 pm IST as the preferred interview slot when I first got emailed for the interview. However, the recruiter scheduled the interview for 8 pm IST instead, upon pointing out the mistake, I was told that there must be some issues with my date/time settings, which made no sense.

I let it slide to avoid going off on the wrong foot, I was free during both time slots anyway, so no big deal. Come interview day I joined the virtual meeting both at 12 pm IST and 8 pm IST to be safe, At 12 I couldn't join the call, which confirmed that 8 pm was the actual time and there were no issues with my date/time settings.

I join the call at 8 pm, and nothing, there was nobody there, I waited 30 minutes for someone to join, but nobody did. I left the call and politely let the recruiter know what had happened, upon which she blamed me for doing something wrong and not joining at the correct time.

Biting my tongue, I replied that I kept my day free during both time slots to attend the interview, thankfully I also had the trail emails to back up the fact that I had made no mistakes on my part, which I highlighted in my response.

The recruiter re-scheduled the interview for the 10:30 am IST time slot the next day, I confirmed the timing, freed up my schedule, and joined the call at 10:25 am IST, and again nothing, no one joined the call. I again waited 30 minutes and left.

Extremely unprofessional organization, recruiters are clueless about the basics of interview scheduling and are quick to blame mistakes on candidates, and hiring managers are clueless about punctuality.
