Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: I was a first year undergrad student and was trying to get an internship in financial market. I came across the company on internshala and submitted my resume and was shortlisted.
Tips: The basic thing is to keep the resume short and to the point. Resume is not your autobiography and the recruiter is not interested in knowing which song you like. Keep it to the point and focus on things which would be meaningful to the cureent job. Also its really important to make sure that you resume is free from typo and gramatical errors

Round: Case Study Interview
Experience: After my resume was shortlisted, I got a mail regarding the date for the interview.
The basic aim of the interview was to test my existing knowledge of the stock market. It tested both my general awareness and my ability to make a general picture out of small facts.
For example in the current scenario, good rainfall is predicted. So we can say that agriculture sector might boom but if we check the record of past few years, average profit is about 3-5%. But if agriculture booms, the farmers will get money, ie there would be cash in circulation and just after july marriage season would start and generally in marriages people buy a lot of motorcycles(hero motocorp to be precise) and watches(titan). Also the introduction of GST would reduce taxes in steel areas which would lower the cost price and would hence increase the profit and in return the stock prices. Hence, these might be a better area to invest in.
Tips: Study the matter carefully. Be aware of the recent happenings in the field. The interviewer should have an opinion that you are seriously interested in your field and are aware of the basics of it. Be confident and whatever your stand is, present logical reasons for the same
