Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - I recently attended an interview with a company, and the experience wasn’t very positive for me. The HR team suddenly called and asked if I was available for an interview at 8:30 PM the same day. I asked for the company name and the position they were hiring for. After getting that information, I agreed to attend. However, they kept changing the interview time multiple times. They even sent me an interview link and later canceled it. I think there may have been some miscommunication between the HR team and the interviewer from the USA (based on the name, it seemed the person had previously lived in India) regarding the scheduling. I’ll attach the email for your reference, which includes the job title and job description. Once the interview began, they asked for a short self-introduction and about my past and current work experience, which I explained in detail. At the end of the interview, they asked if I had any questions. I asked, “What kind of work does your organization do?” In response, they sarcastically asked, “Didn't you read the job description?” I replied that this position was titled "Esri Analyst" and asked whether it was related to Esri India. As far as I know, only Esri India hires for such kind of position, where employees are expected to work with only Esri products. However, the role seemed to require a strong background in LiDAR, 3D mapping, and point cloud classification — which wasn’t clearly mentioned in the job description or aligned with the "Esri Analyst" title. Their overall attitude came across as arrogant and dismissive, even though they seemed desperate to hire quickly. I felt that if I were selected, they might not even offer a fair salary. (You can even find their salary range on Google.) So very careful for dealing that kind of company. This is the job description which I got from the HR team :- Hi ******, Please find job description below Job Description: We are seeking a skilled ESRI Geospatial Analyst with 3 to 5 years of experience in ESRI products and a strong background in 3D mapping and geospatial analysis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in working with imaging, LiDAR, mesh modeling, LoD (Level of Detail), ortho imagery, point cloud classification, and semantic segmentation. This role does not require programming expertise but demands strong analytical skills in geospatial data processing, visualization, and interpretation for industries such as cadastre, topography, utilities, and transportation corridors. Key Responsibilities: ✔️ Utilize ESRI products for geospatial data analysis and visualization. ✔️ Work with 3D mapping techniques, including LiDAR processing, point cloud classification, and mesh modeling. ✔️ Analyze and interpret aerial, satellite, and LiDAR data for topographical and cadastral applications. ✔️ Support projects in planimetric mapping, corridor studies, road networks, and utility mapping. ✔️ Conduct semantic segmentation and geospatial classification of datasets. ✔️ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide geospatial insights and solutions. Required Qualifications & Skills: 🔹 3 to 5 years of experience working with ESRI software (ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, etc.). 🔹 Strong expertise in 3D mapping: LiDAR, mesh modeling, Level of Detail (LoD), ortho imagery, and point cloud classification. 🔹 Experience in geospatial analysis for cadastre, utilities, transportation corridors, and topographical mapping. 🔹 Educational background in B.Tech Civil Engineering, Geoinformatics (Master’s in Geoinformatics preferred). 🔹 Excellent communication skills—strong comprehension, articulation, writing, and speaking abilities. 🔹 Ability to interpret and analyze complex spatial datasets effectively. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have): ⭐ Exposure to GIS automation workflows (ModelBuilder, Spatial Analyst, Parcel Fabric). ⭐ Understanding of remote sensing and photogrammetry techniques. ⭐ Experience in GIS data integration with CAD and BIM. ⭐ Knowledge of GIS standards and regulations in cadastral and utility mapping. Why Join Us? 🚀 Work on cutting-edge geospatial projects across diverse industries. 🌍 Opportunity to collaborate with top geospatial experts. 📈 Professional growth in a high-impact, technology-driven environment. -- A******* * Senior Executive- Talent Acquisition +91 ********** Offices: USA | UK | Netherlands Global Head Office: Bangalore, India
