Got Rejected In an Interview, Just Because I Didn’t Answer a Personal Question

So, I got invited for this interview, and they told me to be there at 9 AM. Of course, I get there early, like 8:30, because I don't want to be late. But then I end up waiting for 1.5 hours. Seriously, they didn't even acknowledge me until 10. Then this HR lady calls me in, and she's totally unprofessional. She's like, on her phone, making personal calls while I'm sitting right there. And then she starts asking me these really weird questions, like what my nickname is, and what my dad does for a living. It got really uncomfortable when she started pressing for details about where my dad works. I mean, what does that have to do with anything? So I politely told her I didn't want to answer, and she actually said, "Then we can't continue this interview." I was honestly shocked. But instead of arguing, I just stood up and said, “Alright then.” And walked out. I left feeling pissed. Not only did they waste an hour of my time, but the HR rep was also rude and unprofessional..

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - This interview was a technical one. It lasted for about 45 minutes. The interviewer wanted to test both my knowledge and communication skills. Most of the questions asked to me were related to my B.sc (statistics).He asked on the basics related to my project topic and some current affairs based on my field.Luckily I was able to answer most of the questions. I tried to answer each question with examples. It was my first oncampus interview, and I think I did well for a fresher. You need to stay calm.
