Sieve analysis of sand & aggregate is conducted to determine the particle size distribution.

Collect a representative sample of sand or aggregate.
Weigh the sample and record the weight.
Prepare a series of sieves with different mesh sizes.
Stack the sieves in ascending order of mesh size, with the finest sieve at the bottom.
Place the sample on the top sieve and cover it with a lid.
Shake the sieves manually or using a mechanical shaker for a specific duration.
After shaking, weigh the retained material on each sieve.
Calculate the percentage of material retained on each sieve.
Plot a particle size distribution curve using the percentage retained values.
Interpret the results to understand the gradation and quality of the sand or aggregate.

Various types of sample conducted from sites there are taking 3 sample of sand & agreegate from sites let it to be taken 1kg to 5kg arrenge the sieve accordingly as per IS 2386 and conduct the test properly and check passing criteria of sample and check which zone of sand or agreegate belongs to a perticular location if percentage criteria obtain with in the range that it should be usable for construction.
