C- Described what I had read in JD and info from seniors about the role.

I- Why do you want to work in operations field even if you have sales in CV and sales is more preferred usually?

C- Described how my 2 years work in operations prior to sales role helped me in effectively handling sales. Gave few examples about how I was able to solve problems related to machine breakdown and infrastructure improvement leading to boost in sales since I had prior knowledge about operations.

Lastly mentioned that I wanted to lead the company and without having a strong background in how the company operates its very difficult. Gave example of HPCL chairman MK surana who began his career in Operations to prove my point. And amazon is known for its operational effectiveness and Ops is its backbone.

I- How was I able to achieve that? (I had mentioned volume and revenue growth in my CV.

C- Completely based on workex and steps that I had taken to boost sales like ensuring quality & quantity, leveraging loyalty program, Infrastructure improvement, Campaigns, etc;

I- How do you motivate people/ Dealers?

C- Gave answer based on my experience of genuinely taking an interest in problems faced by the dealers and solving them within the company's policy framework. Gave example of how I reconciled and cleared dealers long pending subsidies. Also kept constant interaction and gave them the belief that I was always there to always support them. Again few examples from workex on this point.

I- Based on my previous answer on subsidy issue asked how the system can be redesigned so that further this problem does not happen?

C- Suggested changes in existing portal for subsidies and making the dealer more involved in the process. Also suggested an auto escalation model in which if the subsidies requested by the dealer are not acted upon within a certain time limit , it will be automatically escalated to the next higher level management.
