Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Aptitude test was not so hard, we just needed to manage our time and shouldn't be stuck at one question. anyone having average aptitude can solve almost 90% of the question.I was able to do all the 50 question with more than 95% accuracy.
Tips: Don't give more than one minute to any question.first, go through all the question and do as many as you can.
Duration: 45 minutes
Total Questions: 50

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: there was a group of 7 students for a GD and there were 2 panelists who were judging us. they told us to give a final opinion of all of us together after the GD. and we all were agreed that China is the threat to Indian industry but rather than banning Chinese product we have to make it easy for foreigner and Indian to open industry in India.
Tips: Don't repeat the same statement again and again
Speak at least two times in a GD to give your opinion
Starting and ending the discussion is good but only if you are confident enough that you are giving quality content.
Duration: 20 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: 1 - I told vert general answer and at last, I told them about my current project and they asked question about how my project work will me in their company
2 - I was able to answer some of them
3 - Told them and they look satisfied with my answer.
Tips: In introducing yourself tell about your favorite subject and project if you are doing any.
don't tell you don't know for any technical question, always tell you don't remember (this make a huge difference)

Interview Questions

  • Q1. One coding question.
  • Q2. Questions on Data Structures
  • Q3. Logical Question: You are a captive. If you say the right answer, the assasin will hang you, if you say the wrong answer, he will shoot you. How do you escape?
  • Q4. Other aptitude questions

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Other Interview
Experience: One year since I took the interview, so no idea exactly what questions they asked. But I was asked to write the code on paper in front of him and was asked to debug it. Some puzzles and aptitude questions along with other basic coding questions. It was great that the guy was interactive and started asking about my projects and college life.
Btw the answer to the logical question is: I should say " you will shoot me". Paradoxical.
Tips: Feel free to ask anything that you would like to know from them. Also frankly say that you don't know a certain topic if you have no clue what it is about. They don't like people wasting their time.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: This was not exactly a technical interview. He asked me to write a code to find the day of week when a certain date in any year of the calendar is given. I answered it and then he starting asking general questions as to why do u want to join the company, etc.
I gave answers to most of them convincingly. But I kept him engaged by explaining my life at college, the extra curriculars I did at college. Also I asked him about his experience as a software engineer. I asked him to reflect upon his career and how I should approach about my career.
Tips: The best part about HR interviews is they expect you to ask them lots and lots of questions. The more they are engaged, the more are your chances of impressing and getting selected. And more importantly, ask the interviewer about his experience with the present firm. This also works with my manager when ever he has a one on one with me :P
Cheers and all the best.

Interview Questions

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The aptitude test consisted of about 20 questions and had just 20 minutes. The questions were tough and you need speed to solve them. People preparing for CAT and other such exams should be able to perform better. The max score among my batch was 7 or 8.
The coding question was paper based and you had to write C code for a simple question on paper, but design was also taken into account for evaluating the code.
Tips: Both get disheartened if you don't do well in the aptitude.
Duration: 60 minutes
Total Questions: 21

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: The interview was more like a discussion rather than a question answer round. The discussion always went quite off the topic and the interviewer went on to ask other concepts of OS and networks etc.
Tips: Be thorough with the core concepts in subjects like OS and networks

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: This interview was a little more of marketing PayPal to me than an interview. He however slipped in the questions given above. The machine learning question was a little too obvious to apply thresholding and I wasted time trying to get better algorithms when he expected only thresholding.
Tips: Do not tell you are the topper if you are, because I did and he clearly said they don't hire toppers!

Round: HR Interview
Experience: This interview was more to get the truth out of me. I have a very research oriented profile and that was evident from my resume. The interview was to find out whether I would really join their company if offered.
Tips: If you have a high CG and research experience but still want to go for a job, make sure you tune your resume to prune out the research and only market the side which the company looks for, otherwise the company will reject you.

Skills: Computer Science Concepts, OS, Networks, OOP, Machine Learning
College Name: IIT HYDERABAD
Motivation: Just as a backup since I was indeed planning for a masters program. Highest paying package among the companies at that time.

4 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Aptitude and Logical reasoning were easy. Nothing  confusing. Prepare for the popular reasoning models and this part is done. Aptitude is just general Math. programming questions were slightly tricky. Mostly all the questions were of the format finding the output or finding the error in the code.
Tips: As i said earlier, prepare popular logical reasoning questions and try to find out some good coding rules (like difference between i++ and ++i )
Duration: 60 minutes
Total Questions: 60

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: All the questions were related to Computer Networks, Data Structures and your Resume.  Some puzzles were also asked
Tips: Be thorough with your resume. Prepare from CLRS (For any interview). and for networks, prepare for basic stuff and that should be enough.

Prepare some famous puzzles. there are many sites for this

Round: HR Interview
Experience: one simple coding question was asked not to test the coding skills, but to see how i work under pressure(The interviewer constantly asked how i could not do such a small question  and tried to annoy me) Then he gave me a situation  and asked me how i would handle it.
Tips: Keep calm and crack the interview. If you came up to this round then there is very less probability that you will be rejected. you can answer wrong in this round, but you cannot panic.

General Tips: Logical reasoning and Aptitude questions are important. Prepare for them too.
