Interview Questions

  • Q1. (Eg Tell me what you know about PwC; What do you think went wrong during the floods in Chennai and what could have been done instead?)

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Duration: 1 hour

Round: Resume Shortlist
Tips: They had a priority order which was based on our test scores and I was second. Given that the job involved a lot of travel, they were more interested in seeing how well I would fit (Eg: How do you feel about travel?) in the role. Unless I hit rock bottom in the interview I felt they would have taken me

Round: HR Interview
Experience: The final round was focusing on how well I would fit into the company. I feel that they wanted to take me after the first round itself as the second round was more of a casual chat with the interviewer.
Tips: I googled the company and saw what they do and what they have been doing lately. It was announced that I was selected ten minutes before I had to give the interview so I couldn't do much. That little amount of prep actually helped

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: HR Interview
Experience: I am actually from mechanical stream and so I was asked how will I fit for the role. I started talking about my internships and projects where I have used technology (coding stuff) and that I can learn new coding language quickly
Tips: Just make sure you highlight anything you have done related to coding and coding tools (ex. C, VBA, MATLAB,etc... anything)
Even if it is a small part that is related to a tool (above mentioned) mention the same

Round: Technical + HR Interview
Experience: When asked tell me about yourself, I started saying the one I have prepared for the placements but then she asked to mention other stuff like what movies you watch, games you play, talking to people, hanging around with friends.
Then she went through my resume asking me to explain all the points from top to bottom. The key point here is highlight the points that include some tools (C,Excel VBA, MATLAB,Python etc)

Tips: While talking about tools you have used think in the lines of giving an input to the tool the output that comes is used for making few decisions/estimations and how is a data received in the project you have mentioned.Try matching everything you mention to this

Round: Technical + HR Interview
Experience: Use the same principle I have told before. Mention your projects/internships related to coding even if it is small.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Around 45 apti questions (not sure) divided into 3 sections. The Logical Reasoning was quite tough compared to the quantitative n English sections.
Tips: Don't spend a lot of time on the Reasoning part as you may run out of time.
Total Questions: 45

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Basically focussed on your Resume and Project. They'll ask you to explain everything you've done related to your project, your IVs ,course projects, etc
Tips: Try focussing on the reasons whybyou chose your Project topic ,how it interests you and whether you are interested to keep working in that domain or not. A research based topic involving some light coding might give you a definite edge

Round: Other Interview
Experience: It was a phone interview where they basically ask you everything ranging from your family to problem solving. Can be slighty a pressure based conversation as well, like why you scored less marks at a certain juncture
Tips: Just be confident and speak whatever that comes to your mind .Just treat it like a normal convo and you should be fine

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Typical HR questions and details regarding work environment ,career growth, etc

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Questions were about guesstimates, resume points and very few simple technical questions.

General Tips: Try not to go about applying for every odd company just because you are nervous about placements. Make a list of companies and learn all you can about them and their process.
