Interview Preparation Tips
Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: Resume was shortlisted based on their project which they were supposed to give. I had done a internship in core company last year which was little bit related .
Tips: If you have done some project or internship related to efficiency calculation . Forget not to mention that.
Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Not too many question was asked . Interview was short. I did't realize that that was interview I was thinking that I'll be getting call for interview but It was over.
2-3 days before this interview I got call from the company for interview but I was forget that I had applied for this company and I was not knowing the profile of company.
So I said that I don't know anything call me after half an hour. SO Interview was scheduled later and done.
Tips: If you are not aware of the company or forget about their project for which they are seeking intern don't hesitate to ask them to call you later.
Don't worry what you have said when interviewer called for first time (if it happened) read properly relevant things to their project. In interview give your idea how you are going to do that project.
General Tips: In interview don't say that I will read and then know about anything interviewer asks. Just say what you know or what you think should be.
If you are not prepared for interview ask interviewer to call you later.
Skill Tips: Study on their project before interview.

Motivation: Going in core sector of chemical engineering.
Funny Moments: First time when interviewer called and ask there are some projects and you have applied for interview.
I told that I don't know about the project, He asked me do you know boiler I said I don't know.
Then he said are you interested in this project or not.
Then I said can you call me after half an hour, So he agreed and then I read about company project and related stuff .I didn't get call after half an hour I was done after 2-3 days, so I got sufficient time to read basics and advancement in field of their project.

Experience: Interview was purely technical. Having technical knowledge in analytics and good command on matrix transformations probability and statistics helps.
Tips: Before interview look into basic concepts of analytics such as regression, classification, clustering, etc...

Motivation: As it is a start up based out of Boston I think I will be a good opportunity to network and also learn about how a company handles data.
Funny Moments: Hr was a North Indian and I am South Indian. There is slight problem for him in pronouncing few words. I had to ask him to repeat the question twice before I answered. It turns out to be a very simple question but we Both struggled

Experience: Questions were aimed at analysing logical and problem solving skills. Some questions were ambigous to know how we approach the problem.
Tips: Don't assume things. If you see some thing is missing in the question, mention that it is missing and tell all the possible ways of answer.
Duration: 30 minutes
Total Questions: 8
Round: HR Interview
Experience: I told them about my skills which are relevant to the company.
Tips: Identify what the company is looking for and answer accordingly.
General Tips: Apply only if you are interested in Civil Engineering. One month will be learning a construction management software and other month on site work.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: The HR gave us a choice to select for GD. It was a straight forward round and they expected us to discuss the pros and cons and asked us to discuss beyond the geographical boundaries of India. Apart from this what I feel is they were looking how socially aware we were. They did not emphasize on the technical data during GD.
Tips: Use the current scenario of a particular topic and expand it to other countries. Leading the discussion and helping others to put their point forward always helps. Good eye contact and giving a nice and in depth explanation of the topic will help.
It doesn't matter if u start or summarize the GD. What matters is your presence should be felt by the group and the HR....!
Round: Other Interview
Experience: It was kind of tech + HR round which was mainly based on my experience during last summer Internship at Reliance. They asked in depth calculations and derivations of data and equations,my experimental techniques during Internships. They asked the mistakes i did during intern and gave a lot of suggestions on that.
They asked me a lot about my PORs in the campus and asked me how it helped me to be what i am..!
No typical question like strengths and weakness.
And they gave me a problem statement asking role of engineer in a process of tomato ketchup production right from procurement to sales..
The interview lasted for more than an hour and the interviewers were friendly. On the scale of 1 to 10..i will rate technical toughness to be 8.5 and HR to be 7..
Tips: Be truthful about ur CGPA..dun fake abouy ur internship
Jusyify and show them your approach towards every problem. They don't expect correct answer but a correct approach...!
