Haven't got paid yet. Was promised a work computer, never delivered. I was brought into the team without the benefits of ways to pay us. I trusted xNara, but after getting hired for 1 week and 4 days, the company laid me off. My manager doesn't contribute at all. There was no evaluation of performance. The girl who worked with me on the team always asks me questions because our manager doesn't know anything, and would ignore our questions. He's also very inconsistent in his commands and directions. So, I constantly needed to ask the MCO or Dubai team manager questions. The company has no structure and lacks leadership. I'm puzzled why I got laid off because I contributed the most, and I had written down a list of weird behaviors from our manager to meet with HR for instance, face timing me late at night, asking us for our login and password saying that he needed to change settings. I asked him, what settings needs to be changed, can he send us a screenshot or screen share and have a meeting with us to show what needs to be changed, then he said there wasn't a need anymore. He also would say things that show that he had 0 experience in the influencer marketing space he was hired in. For instance, he would ask us to negotiate with influencers when he said he was going to send us a briefing to send to influencers. I asked what's the briefing, what's the budget, but there is none. So unprofessional. How am I going to negotiate, based on nothing? "Hi, can you give us cheaper prices?" For youtube ads, he doesn't even know the format of youtube short, product integration, and dedicated video. Influencers charge different, and which one should we use that's more effective? There were no team meetings. He kept calling my colleague asking questions about what does she think of no benefits or whether we'll get paid. But the company kept my manager and laid me off who has the most experience of us 3. Poor judgment. xNara laid me off saying it was a business decision when they kept the same role for my teammate, they said it wasn't a performance-based decision. So, was it Eny, Meeny, Miny, Moe game? I let HR know about my manager being inexperienced, she cared nothing. Not only I helped test U.S. phone calls, gave feedbacks, I also offered to help find office locations. I trusted xNara. I used all my influencer friends to give their best rates for xNara. There was not even handing off. There wasn't "I'm no longer at xNara, meet my colleague, she will be your point of contact from now on." This handing off doesn't benefit me, but should be a normal procedure of the company. I was in contact with influencers and influencer agencies to give me list of talents' rates, now they'll discover I was no longer there when they email back. I also canceled my June trip to Singapore for this job because there is no PTO structure, and I wanted to focus since it's a start-up company. This hurts the company's reputation more than me. The company displays instability and a lack of structure. It's 1 week since I got laid off, never heard a word about when I'll be getting paid. Just ignored my email. I warned HR about my manager, they didn't even care to listen. They didn't want to improve the team, just randomly hired people, and randomly lay people off. There was a lot of promises at the beginning, but I don't even know if I'll ever get paid. I regret having faith and trust in this company. I usually learn a lot when I work in a startup company. At this company, I learned nothing. Actually, I learned red flags to whom to not to work for. HR did not want any feedback, but it's a startup company. For startups, you need to listen to feedback and improved. This company doesn't foster feedback, and doesn't care about paying its employees on time or at all. Update: I worked for 2 weeks in May for XNara. Didn’t pay yet, it’s already in June. When I asked when I’ll get paid. HR ignored me for a week, and said might pay in July because U.S. entity hasn’t set up. I was brought in the team and laid off due to business decision meaning lack of money. Now they wouldn’t pay me even as a contractor. They don’t care about employees having bills to pay. Just owe us money. Run from this company. They’ll have you put work in, and not pay for 2 months. I’ll keep you updated when they pay.
