GF salary Vs. My salary
Me and my gf have been dating for 5 years. Back in 2020, I started my career with a package of ₹5 LPA. Over the years, I’ve reached ₹22 LPA in 2025. She started her journey with ₹3 LPA(2020) and is now earning ₹8 LPA(2025). We’ve been in a live-in relationship for around 2 years, and the idea was to share expenses equally. But, equal sharing never really happened. If we go to a café she likes, especially with friends, I will pay the entire bill. We only split the house rent and grocery bills. I told her lots of time to cut down these costly cafe expenses or earn more money, increase your package, study and work hard, but.....she is now in her comfort zone. Being from a tech background, I have seen people upgrade their skills and package for a good life in metro cities. I am ready to support her in her studies, but she is like I am earning enough for myself.... No, you are not. I love her, but I don't know how to overcome this issue between us. Please suggest!

...last 1 yr writing all the exams of the world, without actually focussing on any. Also, you can ask anyone at WeMakeScholars, the salary hike after 1 yr, is pretty good… it is worth staying for a few more years, after you get that hike. And the company is pretty stable and sorted in terms of funds, so there isn’t any risk of lay off, until unless you goof up.

Rules are a little too strict, but I think it is required considering the fact that literally every new joinee is 20-21 yr old kid and we GenZs are hard to manage.

...nd incentives are good too. Not much pressure for targets, but rules are strict. Always got salary on time, unlike most of my friends who are working in other laying off start-ups. The company's work culture is pretty friendly.

I relocated to Hyderabad to join wemakescholars. Of course, the starting salary of 22k was tight when you are the sole earner in the family and you have to send minimum 10k back home for your parents survival needs. I worked hard, in fact, very hard for one year and when it came to my retention, Arjun and Kshitij, offered me a good hike almost 12k on my base pay. I am earning well now and able to send around 15k home and still living a decent bachelor’s life in hyderabad.

As it is a start-up, there is a good amount of work. You cannot have that MNC routine of Login, tea break, lunch break, smoke break, tea break and logout. There is actual work here and which demands a little extra hard work. So, not for cool yo-yo guys.

I liked everything about this company- job, work life balance, culture, discipline, everything. I joined this company after working in Byju’s for 6 months. And I am telling you wemakescholars is heaven. And all the negative reviews you see are from those freshers, who have zero idea of what's happening in the world, they have never seen how the managers screw you in other companies for targets. These freshers firstly don't know even basics of professional world, even how to properly write an email and when somebody is trying to teach them ABC of everything, they call it micromanagement. They should join Byju’s or any other Edtech to see how targets and work culture in other companies are.

Salary is lesser than other Edtechs. But other benefits like work life balance, make up for it.

I did engineering because my cousin was doing it. I took up the job as a financial Officer because the pay was good and the company had good reviews. But I still don’t know what I want to make my career in. At the beginning of career, we always want to try our hands on various skills, because we don’t know what’s our calling. That’s what I love about wemakescholars. The opportunity to switch departments, not initially, but once you do a year as an FO. I was part of the loan team for the first year and then as per the request in retention meeting, I was allowed to get into marketing and partnerships role, which has taught me very different and new skills. Now, I know what are the things I am good at and what should I do my MBA in.
