The permanent-contract staff dichotomy is crazy especially among local staff. The poverty mentality among local staff is responsible for this, but the company is not willing to address it.

The company is open to innovation and ready to adopt latest technology. I love the fact that I was part of the Health Safety & Environment team that delivered the upgrade of one their onshore flow stations in Nigeria. She has a good job planning culture, assisting contractors to deliver their projects, empowering contractors with facility upgrade and buildings thus enabling them perform better than they met them. Another plus point is good safety culture, awareness and implementations in line with standard practices. They also, take training of their staff seriously

Irregularities in salary scale among staff of the same level and job title. I do not appreciate the fact that I had to be made to perform contractor role while the contractor performed my role thus making me report to a contractor whose knowledge on the job is much more limited. I did not get some of my financial benefits due to the agency short changing me for tears and Total E & P had not means of following up on the agencies to get them to pay up those withdrawn funds form workers.

For regular staff the salary is good but not same for contract staff. There is team building for every section/dept that encourages monthly stay together or walkout routine that encourages team building and oneness among the staffs.

There seem to be too much interference by some people at the Headquarters in the operations of the subsidiaries, to the extent of dictating who gets dropped or retained according to their past personal relationship with you. I was dropped when there was a 2-month break in activities and was not recalled when the Ofon Phase 2 Job resumed, not minding that I had to resign from my permanent Management Job at Oando Energy Services to come and Consult for Total. I had planned to work for Total at least during the whole duration of the Drilling Project. That Project is still running. I am still shocked and suffering from the effect of the non-recall. My being dropped has practically nothing to do with my Job performance. I did not apply for the Job but was recruited based on my previous performance at Obagi/Ibewa & AMKP Drilling Projects between 2005 and 2009.
