Work culture at TCS was pretty good for me a lot less stressful with all facilities available inside campus.
Dislikes
Growth is slow in terms of salary and learning. Sometimes you may excellent project opportunities for growth but chances of getting such projects is very low
... Tata Group, TCS is known for its stability and focus on employee well-being.
6. Employee Benefits
Competitive compensation, health benefits, and opportunities for career advancement.
7. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Active involvement in CSR initiatives, such as education, health, and environmental sustainability programs..
Disliking aspects of working at a company like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)
1. Salary and Appraisals: Many employees feel that the compensation is lower compared to industry standards, especially for freshers or those in junior roles. Increment percentages are often perceived as modest.
2. Limited Growth for Niche Skills: Some employees express concerns about the lack of opportunities to work on cutting-edge technologies or niche skills due to the nature of the projects.
3. Work-Life Balance: Depending on the project and client demands, maintaining work-life balance can be challenging. Long hours or high workloads may arise during critical phases.
4. Bureaucracy and Hierarchy: As a large organization, decision-making processes might feel slow and overly hierarchical to some employees.
5. Onsite Opportunities: The allocation of onsite roles can be highly competitive and dependent on project requirements, leading to dissatisfaction among those seeking international exposure.
6. Skill Utilization: Employees sometimes report being allocated to roles or projects that do not match their skill set, leading to stagnation or lack of job satisfaction.
7. Training Quality: While TCS offers extensive training programs, some employees feel these are too generic or insufficiently aligned with the latest industry trends.
These issues aren't universal and vary greatly depending on the individual, the team, and the project. Many employees also appreciate TCS's job stability, reputation, and learning opportunities.
...what ever you have learnt.
In TCS everything depends on what project you are in.
If you are in BPS tag its better to develop skills and salary hike for BPS is very less
Before anyone reading this once again i have to mention everything depends on the project.
1. Work culture
2. Managers are toxic and they treat you badly
3. There is no use of having certain skills and not using it practically
4. They don't respect the skills set you are having
5. There is very less hike for BPS tag.
6. If you ever moved to bench, While attending project interview. Don't trust managers whatever they say and don't give approval to mail easily by trusting manager information.
7. HR works for the company and manager. Don't trust HR. To be specific TCS HRs are joke.
8. Most of the manager and leads are not actually trained just because they stay longer in same company and they get promoted. They don't really manage the team well
Worklife balance will be good, don't expect salary hike and promotion, if you are into management you will get salary hike and promotion with out asking your manager
Even call taxi driver is earning 3k to 4 k per day, he is happy, here even seniors will get 70 k to 80 k max - experience level will be 18 +
By the name of work life balance, they won't give promotions, 10 year back what salary you will be getting, almost same salary you will be getting now, they won't ask you to go out of company
You will get burnout here , after going through this tough situation you have commitments you have to go and look out for some good job outside
Medical Benefits and Tag to impress others for being a TCS Employee.
I've got released within 1 month after paying 2 months basic salary, is the only thing to say good about throughout my tennure. Thanks to the Supervisor angel person.
1. Next to terrible on appraisal n salary hike n promotion part.
2. HR and RMG are all blood sucking vampires, never were and never will work in employee favour.
3. Supervisor is favor making machine BUT ONLY for Girls and his favourite ones who are always ready to catch his shit.
4. Asking for release from project feels like you've asked for one of the kidney of Supervisor, he will try giving all the possible excuses which makes no sense but you'll fall prey easily as you are not aware of company policies which happens in 99% cases and for remaining tennure you'll hv to live on supervisor's mercy. After changing almost 5 projects, last one was life changing and finally decided to say TATA to Tata. Always ensure to join this as your last resort and waht max package you can join for, otherwise refuse the chance for better future.
