Job security is good, if you don't work hard then you don't get good ratings but job is secure.

There is a whole list. Heavy corporate politics, nepotism at its peak, benefits are just an illusion, management is highly unprofessional, compensation is industry lowest, CTC is flawed, employees' overall development is zero, and many many more. Dislikes

Hub of nepotism (undeserving kith and kin of Tata Steel bosses occupy high posts), lack of future growth and lateral movement (other companies in the sector are even worse), lack of transparency in day to day decision making, over-reliance on individual brilliance of a handful of toxic people, unsatisfactory job content (you will be only looking over workers doing a mundane job) , sycophancy based review system promotes undeserving people . These are some cons that you will struggle with on a day to day basis. At a more strategic level the, the top management is constituted of people borrowed from Tata Steel (a good number of them are assigned to this company as a punishment for under-performing or misconduct of duty) and is least interested in the sustainable growth of the company or long term well being of the employees. They will allow anything as long as the top line keeps swelling , so that they can pitch for their return to Tata Steel.

After the demise of Ratan Tata, Tata Steel is no longer a place to work anymore. The Stupid HR policy, Forced Retirements, reduced number of leaves are the new normal. The only good part was the OPD medical facility which be discontinued from April onwards as well.

Very high Job security almost equivalent to government jobs. Good work life balance.

Dislikes

Extremely slow growth exactly like government jobs. Minimal increament and low average package for an MBA graduate from top tier B school. This is not a company one should join after completing MBA. The work culture is not suitable for MBA grads and average age in almost every team is 45+ In my opinion, my reporting manager was a head of department who was micromanaging and had come from a marketing background directly into procurement without any knowledge of procurement. Weird way of promoting people in cross functions.
