No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

I have been working here for nearly a year now and have no issues whatsoever. Besides the lack of a clear progression towards a 'promotion', things are quite balanced. The people you work with are focused and committed and there is a feeling of camaraderie rather than a typical boss-worker situation. Flexible work hours and days are a big plus.

Dislikes

Although there is not much to dislike, transparency regarding the pay structure works would be a welcome addition during onboarding, along with regular updates regarding the changes in functioning, SOP, etc.

The editors were the best thing about the place. they are knowledgeable and are never irritated to help a writer with any query. The content manager/ topic provider is a really admirable person as well. working remotely was definitely a plus.

... during my tenure despite their promise and my asking them repeatedly about it. When I finally left, they made me wait more than 15 days from the usual date for my salary, The bosses were incredibly bad at behaving. They do not value a writer, they will throw you out anytime. I'm not tarnishing the image of the organization or anything. Editors are good, the content manager is really good as well. the guys at the top are the ones who will make you regret joining.

Been working here for more than a year now. Sportsmanor has created a culture for me where I don’t feel like leaving. Be it the bosses, or the other employees I work with, it’s always been interesting to work toward one common goal together.
