1) As a social media person, I learnt quite a few things which I didn't know. 2) You'll learn playing with excel and numbers. 3) Peer to Peer learning exists, especially from upper management (but totally depends on how your manager is) Some managers are good, some are really really bad. PS: Hiring at SK is really bad at management level.

1) Salary will remain the same if you're on contract in the social media team. 2) You'll NEVER become permanent unless you have a team working under you. 3) There's no security at job. If a page closes because of low performance and your manager's mistakes, you can be fired. 4) Favouritism at its peak. Affiliate marketers and content writers will come and give you gyaan. 5) There are NO HOLIDAYS. Yes, no Independence Day, no weekends, no Diwali, no Holi. It's a 365 day working position. 6) If you're the social media executive, you're also the copywriter and the graphic designer. 7) If work demands, you'll be called at 11 in the night for a task. Days are really tiring and can extend upto 15-18 hours of work days. Personally, I've at least been awake till 3-4AMs for 30-40 days of my entire stint.

There is a lot to learn from working at Sportskeeda especially as a manager. You develop an understanding of operations and implement tactics to help your team grow. The business is sound from a content point of view and maintains certain standards which add to the quality of your work.

...provided, and leaves are absolutely frowned upon unless you are absolutely sick. The pay is also meagre compared to the workload.

Less pressure compared to most other competitors. Co-workers can be a mixed bag. There are some a-holes, like in all Indian companies, but others are quite friendly. You'll experience more of the latter here, thankfully.

Dislikes

Absolutely no scope of promotions, or even a proper pay raise. The payouts are just abysmal; you can only buy some peanuts with that money. Work-life balance can be non-existent, depending on your department and workload. Payment is always never on time, so expect to wait until the middle of the month.

Dislikes

Most unprofessional place I've worked out in 10 years of content writing with dozens of sports outlets. You must be on call all day waiting for assignments. Sometimes you'll get them back to back. Other times they'll ghost you for five hours and expect you to do all your work in final three hours or be on clock extra long Content managers assign topic and give you their tips. You'll do that and get the editor telling you that was wrong and to do the opposite of what content manager told you. One of the managers called the entire writing staff lazy and claimed he saw people work harder in tropical storm conditions. They expect you to be happy for a job and deal with disrespect or mismanagement. I was also "suspended" for my article being too similar to another on another outlet. Keep in mind - you write via keywords they give you and other sites do that too. So if you do what they tell you, they'll still punish you. Basically you must be extremely desperate for money or working here will be a headache.
