The day I found out my colleague earns 30% more for the same role
It was an accidental slip. A teammate mentioned her CTC while we were chatting casually. Same designation, same team, joined after me but her salary was almost 30% more. My stomach dropped. I spent days debating whether to bring it up. I didn’t want to come off as insecure or difficult. But I also couldn’t un-know what I knew. Eventually, I had an honest, data-backed conversation with my manager. Turns out, I was right and they revised my pay. It wasn’t easy, but it taught me this: silence doesn’t protect you. Companies run on numbers. If you don’t negotiate, you leave money on the table. Have you ever been in a similar spot? How did you navigate it?

Salary on time nothing else

Simplify once showed great promise with a talented team and modern tech stack, but recent leadership changes have derailed its culture. Toxic top-level management driven by favoritism and internal politics has led to a decline in morale and productivity. Employees face poor communication, disrespect, lack of recognition, and weekend work without compensation. Leadership turnover is high, innovation is superficial, and HR remains ineffective. The company lacks direction collaboration, and professional integrity. If you value mental peace and career growth, this is not the place. A serious cultural reset is urgently needed from the top down.

When I initially joined Simplify, it was a promising place to work. The technology stack was modern, the team was talented, and there was a genuine sense of collaboration and ownership. It felt like a company where one could grow and contribute meaningfully. However, over the past year, everything has drastically changed. The rise of a new layer of top-level management — along with their group of sycophants — has completely ruined the culture. The new top-level management and their inner circle of loyalists have taken the company in a completely negative direction. Decisions are now driven by favouritism, sycophancy, and internal politics rather than logic, performance, or long-term vision. These individuals are not only toxic but are actively pushing the company toward a slow downfall. As per the current situation, it was one of the most disheartening experiences of my professional journey. The primary reason was the extremely toxic leadership, especially under our new VP, whose behaviour towards team members was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Basic communication etiquette was completely missing. Constructive feedback was rarely offered — instead, employees were belittled in front of others. The team was led by some non-talented persons who, instead of supporting team growth, contributed to a culture of dirty internal politics. Promotions and recognition were not based on merit or performance but were handed to those who were aligned with the internal clique, often ignoring real contributors. Work-life balance is non-existent. Weekend work is subtly expected, and there’s no appreciation or compensation for the extra effort. The codebase is outdated, poorly maintained, and there is no formal documentation or development process. New joiners are left to struggle without proper onboarding or guidance. There's no sense of direction or team culture. The environment is demotivating, chaotic, and lacks professionalism in every aspect. HR is either unaware or deliberately ignorant of the ground reality, making it impossible to escalate issues. If you value your mental peace, career growth, and a healthy work environment, I strongly advise staying away from this organisation. A serious cultural overhaul is required, starting from the top. Instead of focusing on healthy competition with industry peers, the real battle seems to be happening within the internal teams at Simplify. Departments and individuals are constantly pitted against each other, driven by insecurity, favoritism, and personal agendas. Collaboration is often replaced with blame games, and team members are more focused on outshining each other internally than working together to build a strong product or beat external competitors. This toxic internal rivalry is one of the biggest reasons for the company’s stagnation. Another major concern is the frequent leadership churn. In the past few years, no CTO or VP-level leader has lasted more than a year. There is a complete lack of stability and vision at the top. The Founder/CEO often makes impulsive decisions without understanding ground realities or valuing technical expertise. Innovation is merely a buzzword here — actual product development suffers due to constant directional changes and short-sighted planning. We’ve seen multiple versions of the same product (v1, v2, v3, and counting), each launched with hype and no real improvement — just rebranding gimmicks and internal chaos. These decisions have not only wasted resources but also led to repeated layoffs, severely impacting employee morale and trust. The overall work culture was toxic, with no sense of team spirit or encouragement. Employees were overburdened with unrealistic expectations and were not given the proper support or resources. Despite raising concerns multiple times, there was no accountability or effort to improve the situation from the leadership side. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a respectful, growth-oriented work environment. The management seriously needs to reflect on their behaviour and adopt more professional and people-friendly practices. Suggestion to Leadership / CEO: I would strongly urge the CEO and top leadership to take a closer and more transparent look at what is actually happening on the ground level. The current mid-to-senior level management, some managers and leadership, are creating a highly toxic culture that is driving away good talent and demoralising those who stay. Please take the time to speak directly with lower and mid-level employees without the filter of these managers — you may be surprised to learn how many are struggling silently. The real picture is being manipulated and misrepresented by people who are more focused on politics than progress. Don’t let sycophancy blind you to the truth — it’s your people at the bottom who are keeping the company afloat, not those who just talk big in meetings. If you truly want to save this company and restore its past glory, start by cleaning up the leadership culture and listening to those who actually do the work.

Everything. Nobody cares about the work or the product. Everyone just wants to do their little work and nobody helps you if you have a dependent task. The higher management sucks. Really sucks. They are in a war and there is a lot of politics.
