The day I found out my colleague earns 30% more for the same role
It was an accidental slip. A teammate mentioned her CTC while we were chatting casually. Same designation, same team, joined after me but her salary was almost 30% more. My stomach dropped. I spent days debating whether to bring it up. I didn’t want to come off as insecure or difficult. But I also couldn’t un-know what I knew. Eventually, I had an honest, data-backed conversation with my manager. Turns out, I was right and they revised my pay. It wasn’t easy, but it taught me this: silence doesn’t protect you. Companies run on numbers. If you don’t negotiate, you leave money on the table. Have you ever been in a similar spot? How did you navigate it?

1. The growth is stagnant & an Associate is doing the same thing as a Manager, the role definition is quite blurred in a lot of departments. 2. The Current Dean comes on the back of Corporate stints, hence doesn't have the grasp of the Indian Education system and that can be problematic at most times. 3. The Institute has a serious Identity Crisis, it is a semi goverment institute & a private one according to the Management's convenience. 4. Some of the leaders need to be given sensitivity training, they are biased based on background, religion, gender and all the problematic things imaginable.

Not for people who have ambition of rapid growth, promotions every 2 years, high increments. Life is slow & steady and most people come here for retirement.
