New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward

I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

Defence equipment Manufacturing : Around 10 years back, Ordnance factories and DPSUs were the main manufacturers of defence equipment. Government gave opportunities to private manufacturers to come up into these fields. Many private industries partners have joined and are supplying equipment to Defence and paramilitary forces. I feel with adding private partners advantages gained are, 1. Wider networking in research and design. 2.Cost effectiveness to Govt due to more competitors. 3. Grabing latest art of technology from world market as JVTs faster and economically. 4. Foremost is employment, opportunities have increased many folds. Having come in contact with RRP S4E, a company located in Navi Mumbai, manufacturer of defence equipment, learned, company has taken ToT of many advanced tech equipment in short span of time, not only growing financial well but proving jobs to many many scientists and engineers, all is possible due to Govt policies and given free hand in working by CEO of the company. Such companies have great contribution in growth of our nation. Hoping so many such companies to grow in near future under self reliance and Aatam nirbhar Bharat.
