It is a good brand from consumer point of view. It is popular and people pay attention to it because of suffix FM after the name. Puts you in limelight if you tell some one within your social circle that you work for Red FM. As a media company it is one of the oldest in this domain along with few others. Not much career growth as a sales executive because there is nothing much to learn. You only have to sell time slots to existing clients. Most of the market is already covered by existing and old employees who are there from more than 10 years. Lots of politics. Attrition rate is highest. 25-30 people highered and they left in a span of 2 years. Product is quite simple so you will not have the scope to be innovative and creative in sales. Radio is simple tool for branding and is a support medium for any advertiser. They don’t give appraisals easily and management starts taunting and threatening you if you are doing good. They will tell that the revenue which you are bringing is coming because of the companies brand name and you have done zero efforts. The older employees and sales head are very cunning and will never appreciate your efforts. They try to keep the new employee on toes so that he/she just keeps buttering them and become their sidekicks.

Dislikes

Lots of politics. New employees are misguided and demotivated by old employees specially in sales department. Lala type organisation. Despite doing good i was being targeted for lame reasons and was given an offer after 1 year that either take confirmation letter or appraisal we can not give you both. No learning at all, it’s a simple product all you have to do is cold calling on random shops in streets, markets like a hawker otherwise you will be fired. No roadmap or framework to work. No guidance and support from seniors. No professionalism. Lots of ego and attitude in old employees as if Red Fm is owned and created by them. They treat every employee as a threat to their dominance, will team up against new employee and try to make sure he makes as many mistakes as possible and gets out of the company as soon as possible. Full of backstabers and unprofessional people. HR has no say at all. They are just 2 dolls sitting all day on their systems updating status on social media. Marketing people are snobbish and closed. Don’t expect to have any interaction with other departments as well.

For Bangalore Only and only the brand name on your CV. Also, this entire brand identity of Red fm is completely based on Delhi & Mumbai stations. Bangalore Red Fm doesn't really have a brand identity in the city.

Dislikes

...n employee by putting false allegations on him/her infront of the management 5. Salary is below industry standards. You are expected to work 24×7 with pea nut like salary on your hands. There will be unnecessary LOPs where you will lose out on your hard earned money 6. The station head will always threat you with LOPs if you don't agree to do what he is asking you to do. You can't give your views. For example: During Covid lockdowns (employees were forced, threatened to come to office) if someone was not able to come to office due to unavailability of transport, the station head threatened LOP 7. The HR is a joke. He isn't even a HR, works like a good for nothing clerk. If you ask any doubt to him, he will go to the station head, have a customized answer ready which is directed by the station head 8. The management will take advantage of your personal problems. Like if they know you have a home loan or any kind of loan, they will push you more to be obedient to the station head knowing that you can't leave the job all of a sudden cause you have monthly EMIs to pay.

Appraisal are fair. Good salary hike. So much pressure from immediate bosses. Good company for RJs/programming only. Good working environment for women employees.

Dislikes

For sales people company is not so good. So much pressure you will find. Not so balanced personal and professional life here. On the job training is not given to new sales/marketing joinees . Not a single program like mental exercise.. run by the company for sales/marketing people. Work load is so much that you will feel like 24*7 you are working. Not cafeteria no gaming arcade for chilling.

Great work colleagues, excellent team bonding, pseudo-free work culture. Work routine is quite lenient. Found an amazing creative mentor in Mr. Aalap Tripathi as Gujarat regional head & Rozina Budvani as the national CS.

Dislikes

... innovation or learning unless you're stationed at one of the metro stations. Minimal salary hikes, no internal promotion. If you stay there, you'll stay there for a long time. Criminally offensive lack of professionalism employees are told to serve 3 months worth of the notice period & if they want to leave early they'll have to pay the compensation equal to their salary to the company for leaving or they won't proceed with the fnf settlement.

I had a wonderful experience with Red Fm. All the teammates are really supportive. They will help us to recognise our unseen talent by continues encouragment,positive feed back and suggestion for improvement as well.

Dislikes

Company is not much flexible. As I understand that the salary is normal however, career growth is slow.
