Dislikes

The Managers in Principal are the real kings. They think they make career of their employees. No clear agendas. They take decisions on their will. So if you have a bad repo with your manager, you have no way other than leaving the company sooner or later. No parity in skills as well. If you working on some outdated skills you will dealt as a burden on the company. No work from home, no onsite and still a lot of cheap politics. Another meaningless agenda is about the innovation and automation. Never saw any of their rocket science innovations reaching completion.

Initial work culture of Principal was very good early management used to focus on employees growth , learning with. No micro-management but starting from what you are wearing to what are doing everything is monitored .

Dislikes

No better salary hikes Micro-management Focus shifting towards cost cutting and being like service based company instead of product Not good for career growth Management will focus more on you wearing collared shirt with tucking instead of quality delivery

The leadership is extremely transparent about all the decisions being taken and the direction the company is going in. Everyone's thoughts and inputs are taken into consideration while planning for any new feature. There is little to no pressure for medium to high performing individuals. Through extensive mindset shift programmes, an engineering culture is being developed and inculcated in the company

Dislikes

The compensation scale is not as competitive as the market. The company is a little too tolerant of poor performers and not enough remedial action is taken to even out a team

Likes

The work culture, work-life balance, company ethics and core values, non-salary perks (free transport, life & health insurance, gym, stock purchase plans) are great. This is an employee centric organization with focus on customer benefits. It's a good organization.

Dislikes

Average compensation for some roles 'might' be little less the industry. Promotions and growth 'might' be a little slower than the industry.

Likes

Work life balance here is a blessing. You'll learn here only if you push yourself and take initiative and responsibility. There isn't much pressure as far as the deadine is concerned. If you are supposed to work on a new tech, considerable team is given for you to learn. All and all, the work is decent, but if you are looking for a challenging opportunity, then you might want to reconsider joining.

Dislikes

Compensation is slightly less than what is given in the industry. A lot of work is based on pretty old technologies.
