It was close to commute to. That was the only thing that I liked about PGIMER. Second thing that was likeable was the freedom to take holidays since the boss itself was not punctual at all. The boss would seldom question a one-day leave. But boss was quite generous with taking leaves.

...velopment. 2) No carrier growth in terms of research; forget about appraisals. 2) Boss would dictate or rather ruin your work-life balance in exchange of getting higher dividends (salary). Kindly don't fall for that trap. 3) Boss had no reliable political connections; tries to subjugate/pressurizes other faculty members to include their name in whatever research projects or ideas they have. 5) Boss would arrive to the department late by 1 pm almost everyday and waste most of her time gossiping. Bearing the brunt of sudden and surprising mood-swings of the boss. 7) You will have to prepare presentations for your boss for topics that you are not at all familiar with. 8) Not just that, the call for preparation will come at the eleventh hour (last moments) or even sometimes on the day itself when presentation is to be delivered. 9) Boss tried to promote more women at work even if they weren't skilled enough. She would even oversee all of their mistakes and would let them have a go by themselves before the technicians or attendants started working properly. 10) Office politics is off the charts, especially when women are in charge. Boss was biased towards some of his/her workers; protecting them; overseeing their follies; and, putting them ahead on some of good workers. The boss doesn't rely on her own instincts, rather, would listen to his/her most trusted workers and even believe their crafty nonsense.

Pgi has a lot of patient load which helps adress the need of learning and academic sessions are there but most of the time they are for the use of faculty resident barely get time to attend 30 percent of classes . Work is hectic specially in internal medicine goes up to 14 hrs daily no Sunday offs means you end up working 24*7*360 days .there are a few less hectic postings where you may be able to take leave for 4-5 days at a stretch for visiting home or leisure mind you this might be once in 6 months .

Just the patient load. In psych no major advantage from any other tertiary institute.

Dislikes

Biased attitude for external candidate coming from srship. They want only their own md pass out and that too non sponsored. Bad work life balance. Unnecessary works..making minutes for meetings is job of clerks not the resident , Taking pride in a toxic culture not realizing that it hampers growth.. non helpful people.
