Likes

The colleagues are friendly. Jobs security is there. Good for beginners.

Dislikes

Appraisals are not timely. Leaves are hard to get approved. no other benefits other than salary like childcare, gym, work from home etc. You have to work on all Saturdays usually more than 9 hours per day. There is a 2-year bond and notice period is 3 months. Most people would have to work mostly on obsolete technology and customizations on existing clone scripts.

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?
