The only upside is that you get to write a research paper. If you are fresher, you may gain some insights too.

Dislikes

There are many downsides though- 1) There is no monetary compensation. If anything, they ask you to pay a platform fee regardless of whether your paper was published or not. 2) The position listing did not disclose the actual role of the intern and was misleading. It was only after orientation that we got to know that we have to write a research paper on our own and not 'write reports' or 'implement research policies' etc (these terms are directly taken from their listing). 3)Not all research papers will be published by the team. 4) LORs and certificates will only be given to Team Heads and not everyone in the group. 5) So not only there is no monetary compensation, but they are also taking away the only incentive interns have which is LOR and certificates. The least they could have done is give LORs to the teams with published articles and certificates to everyone, but, no. 6) The support team is needlessly rude and inefficient. HRs have the tendency to completely ghost. There is also little support for writing the paper. Interns are misled to believe that a supervisor will help with meetings and guide the research, but group members are completely led by each other.
