It depends on the project/department. In my department allocation done for work but you don't get proper work to do. But there is a possibility to learn new things. You will have much time provided without troubling.

The work culture is pathetic, starting from the managers to associate directors to directors till deputy dean. No job security. You can find yourself chucked out & w/o a job the minute you disagree with them. Pathetic Culture especially the Executive Education & the Associate Director knows nothing how to work as a team

Ambience is green and spacious. Very corrosive and uncaring working environment. Not recommened for people who are used to working in corporates.

The few of the many things I liked most: flexibility of time, caring for you and family, opportunity to credit courses and learning, exposure, independence of doing job in given time, openness and work culture, One to two terms off in a year. Opportunity of interacting with top gun academics. (I was given paid leave of two months for completing my thesis). I used flexible office timing when my wife was expecting, Often went to swimming and playing badminton during office hours when not felt like working, and continued beyond office hours when liked. I give a bow to ISB for what I am today in my professional life...

Sometimes (typically during evaluation of end term exams that occur once in a five weeks time) the work was too much to bear and I had work over nights. Recently my ex colleagues who are still working at ISB told me that the things have changed and it is no more the same ISB. They even find themselves in catch 22 situation as they can not find next job due to too much occupation with the current responsibilities and there are very rare opportunities for absorbing in other positions at ISB.
