New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward
I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

IIMM, Kol is a branch of IIMM - head Quartered at Bombay, IIMM is a professional Inst to impart education & skill trg on Materials Mgt - various dimensions. IIMM is functioning for about 45 yrs, with Govt affiliation.

IIMM Kol was a nice association of Materials professionals, havung diverse views and expertise. IIMM Kol is a body of elected professionals to serve for two years - as Chairman, VC, Secy & Treasurer with Ex Committee Members. Elected Office Bearers are only giving their voluntary service, assisted by few Office staff, and guided by IIMM HQ. Hence it is not full time Educational set up. We are not employees of IIMM, but remain associated as Members with Sectional responsibilities, from period to period. I myself served as Treasurer, Secretary, VC & Branch Chairman, and later as a National Councillor. My association with IIMM was over 40 yrs, and even now I am a Life Fellow of IIMM, having served as Faculty, Coordinator for Short Courses for 4 years. We used to receive Faculty Honorarium on Classes undertaken.
