As I was in contract period, so there was nothing like job security as for three years is concerned. Work culture was good, every one was busy in his/her own work so there used to be very less time to sit with someone to share something except work. you work and leave thats the routine. the management was quite disappointing as there was shortage of staff and the work supposed to be varyingly distributed. some has to do more work and some has only few. As there was so many things to learn, so I hardly had time to spend on other things and thats really productive you make mistakes and you learn and the process goes on until you become master.

Dislikes

From the first day of joining till the day I left were amazing. I kept my positive attitude even when there such incident when m seniors shouted on me but I took that as a lesson which obviously worked for me. The staff was amazing.

HPPWD is a state government organisation entrusted with development of infrastructure mainly buildings, roads and bridges having a manpower of nearly 28000 comprising engineers,skilled & non skilled workers. Job security is not an issue, being a government organisation. We have developed a network of nearly 37000 km of roads, managed efficiently by highly professional and experienced of engineers in difficult hilly terrain of Himachal Pradesh.

Political interference at various levels.

Likes

One get satisfaction on providing basic infrastructure to country. Team spirit up to Divisional unit.

Dislikes

Too much political interference, non engineering responsibilities takes most of your quality working time. Sometime personal ego and intrests jeopardize team working. PWD officials spend very less time for planning and estimation which is entrusted to technical staffs like surveyors and drawing staff. Higher officers tend to become track minded.
