Being a maharatana PSU it comes with many benefits like excellent medical facilities, job security, good starting salary and various allowances like furniture, phone and laptop etc. If you like transfers then it could also work in your favour. You might work in various business units of the company which gives a wider perspective about the oil and gas sector.

Frequent transfers, average salary hikes and promotions as compared to good private companies is somewhat disappointing. Job is quite monotonous and hence less satisfying. Overall if your postings and seniors are decent, you will likely to stay with the company because of non-monetary benefits otherwise you will surely look for other options considering the kind of salaries IT/Consulting companies are offering today.

Groupism, Very high level of politics everywhere in work, delayed promotion, discrimination, mental torture, harassment. Hardworkers and meritous people are harassed. Those who are masters of politics they get promoted very fast and make life hell for you. Lots of unwritten rules and red tapesism. There is huge stay back after office hours. You are expected to work for 24 hrs even on festivals. Worse company to work for. All of my batchmates have resigned.
