New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward

I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

There’s nothing to like much unless you are a person who only knows to work at workspaces & is not willing to take any breaks

Dislikes

Appraisal cycle is worst. Even with good ratings you might end up getting the least appraisal.

Timings and people are nice.

Dislikes

No work from home - limited WFH days that also does not get approved. No leaves - always have to lie to get leave here, people are not supposed to take any leave because whole year is a high demand season for them. Have to beg for weddings, examinations, maternity or family visits here. Hardly 15 leaves in a year. Not good appraisal - very choosy, depends on who the HR likes the most gets the most privileges. Not much growth in learning

Company has good value system, the senior level employees are well experienced. They do the project training well.

Dislikes

The last one who adopt any changes happening in the world. The company wants to see it's all employees in all 5 days, they do not allow work remotely. The employee retention will be the main risk for them due to this orthodox policies.
