No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

1. Free Lunch. 2. Salary on time. 3. Your peers are supportive and friendly. (most) 4. GeeksforGeeks' brand value has really helped the employees here in switching but that value is also on some serious decline.

Dislikes

1. Toxic and insensitive management. They will lay you off just before your marriage. You will be frowned upon whenever you ask for a leave or WFH. (They were good till 2023, IDK what got into them after that) 2. No new ideas for product growth, hence the employees' growth has also gone massively slow. 3. Their focus has shifted from quality candidates to interns for better "cost benefits." 4. The work doesn't matter, you being visible on your seat matters. 5. Most of the star employees have already been laid off or they have resigned from the company. 6. Shift timings are of 10 hours each day now. GfG is an example of what a wasted potential looks like as a company.

Don't work in Geeksforgeeks. There is no job security. Upper management takes instinctive bad decisions. They are ruthless. They don't consider loyalty and honestly. Whoever buttered them they will stay. They fired whole of the team who built gfg from the scratch. Fired everyone and hired interns. Whatever job opening are ther in job portal are all expired and jobathon they are fake marketing it because in backend there are no such job openings. They are fooling market , candidates and HRs

Work culture is pathetic. At any given point of time they will change your team. They will not pay than your worth. They don't provide tissues at washroom (apparently cost cutting) , lights will get off at day time (apparently energy saving). CEO after first round of firing no one will get fired and from next day second round of firing started. I recommend no one even interns don't join this toxic company

From top management founder to managers, all are try to suck employee. This is like sugar, a sweet poison which looks good but in long run you will loose all your skills. I will not say you don't join this company but don't stay here for more than 6-12 months. Just join and find the new one as soon as possible.

...ty, hell lot of micromanagement, no job security as they lay-off anyone anytime. The company basically runs bcz of interns and any full time employee having a decent salary is in danger of layoff. 6 mom the sofa probation period and minimum 45 Days of notice period. Toxic work culture.

HR policies keeps on changing. They change policies whenever they wish. No salary benifits, and appraisal cycle is terrible. Job security is least. They believe in hiring someone at low salary organisation doesnt eye for talented candidate.
