While my experience at Fortel Hotels has been valuable, there are several areas where I believe improvements are necessary: Management and Workplace Culture: The attitude and behavior of the Operations Manager (OM), as well as the overall culture, could benefit from greater professionalism and collaboration. Material Procurement Delays: Materials are often not purchased on time, causing operational delays and inefficiencies. Guest Experience: There seems to be insufficient focus on guest priorities, which impacts overall satisfaction. Security Concerns: Security measures are inadequate, with outdated fire safety systems, expired extinguisher cylinders (expired two years ago), and no scanner machines in place. Facility Issues: Critical systems such as fresh air ventilation for floors and rooms, and the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), are currently non-functional. Political Environment: Staff bypass hierarchical structures and communicate directly with the MD, creating unnecessary politics and disruptions. Budget Constraints: Many essential tasks are rejected due to lack of funding, which hinders necessary improvements. To address these issues, I have initiated efforts to revamp the facilities. However, consistent support, funding, and prioritization from management are required to ensure long-term improvements.
