New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward

I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

It is a wonderful company where I could have the right balance between my personal and professional life. I was given complete freedom in making my own decisions related to projects and get valuable feedback from the seniors and peers. I loved working here.

Dislikes

Some things related to company, which i dont l like is that there is no extra compensation for staffs who are working for extra hours or days. A basic training regarding a particular course must be given to employees at the beginning who are working on developing it. There is no enough leave for an employee through an entire year. There is no sick leave and comp off facility as well.

Can learn many things but on our own. No training is given.

Dislikes

Hectic work. Micromanagement, no leaves, extra working hrs daily, sometimes weekend working, no bonus or proper hike, bad team leader and manager who do not know team management, HRs are just time pass as they don't check whether policies are followed by TLs and Managers.

Work satisfaction and a good boss in the R&D team. Only these two factors helped me stick to this company for a long time.

Dislikes

The top management never stands on its word. No perks, no work-life balance, no bonus, nothing. Name a thing and it will be the worst here. The worst HR department one would never want. No employee engagement. 1 lac insurance, and that too individual. Family isn't covered.
