No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

We were just fresh from our post graduation and excited to be placed through placement cells. Director Santosh Naik is a humble and soft spoken person who has always tired and asked for opinions as an when needed. Organisational hindrances and sometimes miscommunication was a problem. In-fact the company has lots of potential if only it can streamline few of its resources and restructure certain policies. I was with 6 of my fellow colleagues who also joined with me at same time. Though we were on different projects being from same iFEEL college helped. Though I was there for a very limited time growth wise we didnt see much of positives there. Again it all comes on the attitude and disciple that you carry. But training and making new employees comfortable is something that truly needs to looked into.

Dislikes

Strict goal and plan for achieving that goal needs to be conveyed to all the member of the project. Infact even when there are incentives and reward recognition for star performer we didn't see that enthusiasm among-st team members. Also politics and favoritism is something that needs to be seriously looked into, Having said that one must learn and Disha provides a competitive platform for it.
