The day I found out my colleague earns 30% more for the same role
It was an accidental slip. A teammate mentioned her CTC while we were chatting casually. Same designation, same team, joined after me but her salary was almost 30% more. My stomach dropped. I spent days debating whether to bring it up. I didn’t want to come off as insecure or difficult. But I also couldn’t un-know what I knew. Eventually, I had an honest, data-backed conversation with my manager. Turns out, I was right and they revised my pay. It wasn’t easy, but it taught me this: silence doesn’t protect you. Companies run on numbers. If you don’t negotiate, you leave money on the table. Have you ever been in a similar spot? How did you navigate it?

The people I got to work with was my favourite part about DigitalOcean. The leadership team demonstrates a razor sharp focus on growing faster and together which was very motivating. The culture of love, respect, trust and accountability oozes out of every person and interaction you have with DO.

Not many engagement opportunities while WFH. If you like working in isolation meeting your personal and organisational goals, you will have no problem here.

Good thing is they provide good support during onboarding and all people are extremely supportive until the new joiner settles in. Everyone is easily reachable. Ample of benifits for the employees

Absolutely nothing! They have no dedicated working space, the office is cramped up and feels more like a school rather than an MNC. They do not have any real time training nor do they help you in learning anything new. No career growth whatsoever. You get semi-annual appraisals which are flat rate for all the employees irrespective of performance. The appraisals are in the tune of 2 to 5%. They have 7 to 8 different tools non of which work and people get frustrated for not being able to use any of the tools.

Dislikes

Almost everything is detestable. They do not provide cabs. They do not have a personal working space. Work environment is borderline harassment. You will be questioned on each and every "work from home" that you take, no matter under what circumstances you took the WFH. The HRs and country head do not bother about employees and they just love to abuse and harass everyone. For the company, "Team Event" means drinking and puking and making sexist jokes. They have no concept of real "Team Work" or "Team Events". The HR lady at the India office can barely talk in English and has horribly bad manners. She should be removed immediately and replaced with a better person. The whole office is a bad concoction of evil office politics and back biting. I'd strongly recommend to keep of this company at all costs.
