Only the job security in the name of Government job and the status is the only thing.

Dislikes

I didn't feel any motivation to work in police. The salary is also meagre and taking the work fout times than that salary. No assessment of skills gap is done. Never pay importance to training, they dont even know that employees productivity is related to the job satisfaction, postings as per the interest and skill of an individual is not given.

....Career growth is slow & needs improvement particularly at lower & middle level.Salary is not consumerate with the working hours & the work culture which does not have a fix time schedule.Need for salary appraisal keeping in view of the unscheduled & haphazard duty hours.Travel is part &parcel of the duty.Political interference is becoming a general feature & it needs to be curtailed. Inservice training is there & it is to be more interesting & work oriented.Innovation & modern technology is needed.When you are in field duty there is little time for your family & one try to compensate it with unfair means.The time schedule is very hectic.Inspite of all the odds, the work is very exciting.

...ob is secure if you perform diligently. Career growth depends on ur performance. Salary is required to be on the higher side. Traveling is lot. You keep on learning every day with different situations. You have to create work environment. New innovative ideas come with ur involvement in work.

I liked to be a member of the police force. I worked there for 37+ years. This was a very challenging job. Every day a new situation came across and it needed to be resolved at the earliest. I didn't run away from the situations as I knew every problem comes with a solution and we have to find it. I definitely enjoyed my stay in Delhi Police. The only thing is that there is no fixed timings when you are posted in field duties. If u r doing good, your efforts are appreciated.

It's a job of reputation in the society. You will get confidence on yourself serving here. You can get chance to do good thing for society and poor people also to curse the criminals. When you wear uniform of police you get an extra confidence to fight with every challenge.

Dislikes

Corruption and buttering are the main motives in this department. If you are clever in buttering the senior officers and corrupt too, you can get the posting and promotions of your own choice. One cannot get the police station in charge ship without paying corruption money. Traffic circle posting is also very high in corruption. For police station incharge and traffic circle incharge there is auction type system

After Air Force service I joined Delh Police. In AF You have to move all over India but in DP you have to move within Delhi. I have enjoyed in both the movement .

Dislikes

Nothing is drawbacks of working at DP.
