If you are considering joining the CloudOps team at this company, I strongly advise against it. You will likely waste your time. The work primarily involves filling Excel spreadsheets and turning VMs on and off. Expect unwarranted reprimands from the manager. There is little else. The CloudOps manager, Abdul, is, in my opinion, incompetent and toxic, possessing minimal cloud skills. Many junior staff members likely have more cloud knowledge than he does. He appears to pretend productivity in front of his superiors. He avoids client interaction, likely due to his fear of being unable to answer their questions. The director is also reluctant to assign anyone to cloud engineering projects. Even if you possess the necessary skills, you will likely not be given project work. There are no growth opportunities. Existing employees who are already working on one or two projects will simply be assigned additional ones. If you request real project work, you will be told you lack experience, despite the fact that project experience is necessary to gain that experience. Your accomplishments will go unrecognized. However, even a single mistake will be disproportionately highlighted, as if you had committed a serious offense.
