The opportunity to teach students and help them make their career and offer guidance on cracking interviews.

Dislikes

Heavy politics, poor compensation, delay in payment, lack of job security, high attrition rate, micromanagement, treating staff like students and imposing way too many restrictions! The policies and benefits offered throughout Chandigarh University aren't valid here. They have their own governance- dictatorship, anyone questioning them would be punished with overload or lack of pay. An employee's position could change overnight here, all your qualifications and skills go in vain and the only basis you achieve growth is by being ignorant and stooping down with the politics. The university itself seems fine but engaging with the Department of Career Planning and Development would be disastrous.

...earth. There's no learning, no work life balance. Senior managers are very rude. Salary increment is almost negligible, about 200-500 rupees after a year. No promotions. No leave policies. Have to work in situations like not well, COVID, someone expired in your family etc. You are entitled to leave after a year but leave will not be given. Will treat you as students. Salary will be deducted double if you are absent. Extended work hours. CU is not employee centric. No health policy, no insurance, no PPF, no transport etc. Only false promises. Don't go for the brand name because it's hollow inside.

...e, no PPF, no transport facilities, extended work hours and weekend work policy. Salary deduction in COVID but charged full fees from students. Continued deduction even after COVID and worked one extra day for about 2 years. Give odd works like admission of students and no payment of salary if you can't get admission. No pay for extra duties like invigilation during exams. Will be after your life if you work from home. No payment for internet connection but will deduct your salary because you are not traveling. Will not give experience letter if you resign according to your convenience. The list is endless.
