The team mates were nice and always cooperative. Since it was a Govt. Deptt. hence job was very secured with handsome salary. There was annual appraisal of my work. I learned a lot during my job.However, there was a bit element of politics also but the work environment was good. Since it was field work so one has to be innovative in solving the vareity of cases.My work was of detection,assessment of revenue paid and shown in the returns .I have also worked in import and export as duty assessing officer.

The job has obivious advantage of so called job security associated with a typical government job.

Dislikes

It is not a place to work for someone who aspires career progression. At most you get 2 promotions in entire service tenure that too have differ from zone to zone and category to category. There is no performance linked promotion and you can't imagine of career progression. Sycophancy is prevalent in department. Also now old pension scheme is scrapped so the age old benefit of pension is also not there. In the middle age, most of the staff becomes frustrated and critical of department.

1stbi want to clarify that it's not company it's govt. Dept. Which helps in collecting revenue from companies and others for govt. Expenditure..... Now it says knows as GST.

Promotion s very late.... But job satisfaction s there

Job security is 100% even if performance is below zero. Holidays are like primary school so one can enjoy life to the fullest. Hardly any restriction on punctuality. One can attend office only when he is devoid of any personal work. Bosses behave like king and enjoy all legal and illegal perquisites to the fullest. Bosses do not have any accountability and is easy for them to shift the blame to the juniors.

Calculation of duties as notification issued time to time and to advise to submit revised classification avoid imposing of penalties.

Working in any field is nothing to dislike ,but you learn more nd more and achieve more knowledge
