The day I found out my colleague earns 30% more for the same role
It was an accidental slip. A teammate mentioned her CTC while we were chatting casually. Same designation, same team, joined after me but her salary was almost 30% more. My stomach dropped. I spent days debating whether to bring it up. I didn’t want to come off as insecure or difficult. But I also couldn’t un-know what I knew. compensation is decent, but growth is slow. the work pressure is very high, sometime, i have to work 10 - 15 hours straight in a day as i have to finish work load in the evening and sometime late into the night. I am senior in my field so business owner do not value an individuals' unique strengths, which is why i have to take back my suggestions most of the times . i do received appreciation from employees and subordinates , but they mostly go unnoticed of my works, also there is no-job training for fresher, hence senior folks like me have to guide them stap-by-stap, which is a pain sometime
