1. Great vision & mission
2. High payment brackets in NGO sector
3. Good networks with other education sector NGOs
4. Hybrid work setting
1. Poor work life balance - People in leadership will verbally discourage you from working on weekends but workload is so much that to meet timelines, you have to work on weekends. Managers are messaging employee at night on regular basis.
2. High amount of workload - The workload and employee ratio is so skewed that people have to work for 10-12 hours minimum on a daily basis. Even if working on weekends is verbally discouraged, only the people working extra hours get the work done and they are promoted.
3. Slow growth & promotions - The promotions and task divisions are extremely unfair. TFI fellows are given unreal amount of favours They are paid better and given more important assignments. They are promoted easily and are given chances to lead whereas others are just doers. Others have to wait for years to climb the career ladder.
4. Favouritism - There is favouritism on the basis on who can talk smarter. People are asked to leave if they are not seen to be performing even after working on 5 years in Org. Some people are randomly given one month of work from home without medical emergency while others who have rejoined after maternity leave aren't given WFH. It is okay for people to work from different countries and different timezone for a month while for others, travelling out of town for 2 days in an emergency is a problem.
1) Leave Policy flexible
2) Salaries on time
3) Highly networked founder + clear legal compliances +ethical org
4) Opportunity to work from partner org's big office
5) Young team fun spaces
1) Unreal amount of favoritism towards TFI fellows with no specific justified reasons.
2) Designations at AF are nothing but a joke. Absolute no parity, in terms of experience, or skills.
Being in the good books of the founder is a key thing to crack. Stubborn Founder + Inexperienced Jt. Directors and meaningless decisions to top it all.
3) Crazy to scale even if not being able to manage the current scope of work. No real impact on the ground. Students are still confused and directionless.
4) Year on Year same recurring issues in implementations. People made scapegoats and thrown under the bus. Changing people does not make up for shabby leadership.
One of the worst foundation in Goa with worst rapport with school's and teachers. At start they will tell you that you can renew your contract but later they will terminate your contract no matter how best you gave to that organization. Even after you building rapport with Headmaster, schools and teachers this antarang will terminate your contract.Manager and Team lead are one of the most hated people by others as they will never work properly at initial stage and later they will blame other employees. Secondly Manager and quality team doesn't have the proper knowledge of functioning so they will pressure on you when they will get firing from hire authority for their negligence. It's kind of hire and fire. They just keep people's at work who do chamcha giri. Mumbai team have no information about how the functioning is going on in goa and tends to take wrong decision. Also they target the employees to work extra without any promotions.
Poor management, Founder do not have any control on organization also do not bother for improvement.
Favouritism to some people.
Less skilled and less experienced people are at Director level with poor management skills and technical abilities
