Salary comes on time. But not that they pay for the amount of work they seek from you!

This organisation is for the bosses, it has no relavance for it employees especially the teaching staff which is the backbone of any educational institute. Here, all is a show off, bosses don't listen to you. Moreover, majority people at higher positions do not have a single day experience of teaching or research and they are the ones deciding research targets, allotting subjects, deciding policies for lectures and other aspects for the faculty. While I work at the B-school branch where work culture is pathetic; politics, insecurities, polluted minds, basically it takes away your mental peace. I would never suggest anyone to work at the university either. Whole organisation, system everything is flawed. Big brand with no depth, extremly shallow, lalaji company!! To add, the boss at our campus is one of the most polluted minds, getting pleasure out of insulting people. Uses students as spies against his own faculty. I literally can't state the depths of the ordeal I have been through. HR is totally non-supportive here, as a female employee, if you are insulted on and off you can't do anything about it. There is no policy for workplace harassment, mental harassment and punishing the insulting behaviour of higher ups. To sum up, one of the worst organisations one could come across!!

...President. Something that really made me proud to be a part of the organisation. A few colleagues and timely salary, two days off, being among young minds

There's nothing much to like in this place. A lot of pomp and show outside but it's all a facade. A lot of politics, general negative environment, gossip culture, groupism and zero professionalism. HR is only interested in hiring and placing people in this campus but is not interested in the well being of the employees. You are as good as a piece of furniture here who is expected to perform miracles with no facilities. The maintenance is zero, poorly lit corridors, malfunctioning lifts, no funding for anything, zero policies for women's or students safety, gender based bias, harassment and molestation, is common from male senior colleagues as no background checks are done before hiring. A few incompetent people have been working here for years and are highly insecure and try all kinds of tactics to push out the competent ones from the University. The higher authorities at the Kolkata campus are too occupied in favouring their own people and playing safe to actually think about the wellbeing of the employees or people without bias. Many of the staff members have made a complete mockery of official dress code inspite of reminders from authorities. People do not encourage or cheer for each other here so the whole environment is toxic and backward. The appraisals and increments are irregular and unpredictable, the management is in some kind of delusion that they are doing reall well or simply have given up as this campus is beyond repair. People were a little hopeful with the appointment of the new VC but sadly it's getting from bad to worse with basic human rights being completely disregarded and ridiculous rules, regulations being set at the whims of the new VC while the important matters that actually need some resolution remain the same.Every time a new VC is appointed, some new set of rules are put into practice, so there is no particular standard rulebook or guidelines. This place is sure to take a toll on your mental health. So thinking of working here for a long term is not feasible.

HR is not helpful at all, they make one person work in different departments and the salary is very low, she doesn't get good appraisal. People who are liked, like those who fill the ears, get a huge salary increase.

There is no culture as such except petty politics and gossip. No scope for growth and no peace of mind.Poor management and lack of basic facilities like poper lifts, labs etc. The higher authorities are just dummies. There are no proper security for women and no training or upgradation of the staff as to how to behave in a professional environment. The bar is very low and they only talk about values in orientation and meetings but they uphold none. They are only concerned about getting more admissions and projects and fundings etc. VIP culture reigns supreme and important matters are overlooked. They have the most horrendous DJ events, that's what they offer students.HR is of no use at the head office and at Kolkata.
