New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward

I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

Was looking for an experience. I took it and that's it. The only good thing about this company was the fact that the seniors were helpful and cooperative. The HR tries to manage situations well.

Dislikes

...discipline. There are no strict timings. Somedays we end up working all day. B. Salary is way too less for the amount of work we do. C. Team leads are arrogant and obnoxious who cannot even guide us properly. They would mislead us and blame us for all the mistakes they committed and put us in a bad light in the eyes of the management. D. They hire you saying that it's a 8.5hr job but never does that happen. You end up working for more than 10hrs.

The company culture is awesome. I have been working here for the past 7 months and the days have been mind blowing. I learned a lot. Work-life balance is almost decent. They provide wfh opportunity which is great for people who want to invest time in other things. The team leaders are great and helpful. Provide flexibility when needed

I can say it just helped me in gaining my confidence and coping capabilities. Except this the company's seniors are terrible. A handful of them were nice otherwise some were exceptionally rude.
