Need career advice

I am a BTech biomedical engineer. I have been working in a medical device regulatory affairs sector for service based company for the last 2.8 years.The overall experience is the same as it is my first company and job. I do want to switch jobs for better pay and opportunities. My current package is around 5 LPA CTC. I have dependencies on me as I'm the only earning member of my family of 4 Any suggestions or tips on career growth opportunities? recently I feel kind of stagnant at this job.

There used to be a time when flexible working was in practice. Now, Tata Elxsi walks backwards. No work from home, deduct leave/salary if predefined number of hours are not available at swipe data, etc.

Dislikes

The worst HR and policies. Stay away. Consider only if there is no other option.

Absolutely nothing is worth writing about Tata Elxsi except that brand TATA. There is hardly any training or career growth. The jobs offered are not up to the experience of the candidate. Like someone wrote, if you get a good project you are lucky, because 90% of the projects are garbage, which the customer does not care about and does not want to spend engineering effort on it.

Dislikes

If you heard the term "chop-shop" this is what this company is all about. There is no engineering skill what-so-ever, the engineers are always in a learning mode. All the engineers are either fresh from college or with some shady experience. There is hardly any engineering infrastructure except for small labs which are funded by theproject owners. TATA and its subsidiaries will sell "snake oil" to lure the customers and engineers alike. Just like all other IT service companies, the business model of Tata Elxsi is (headcount x $$ x current exchange rate). So as the head count increases the earnings increase assuming constant exchange rate. If you are a fresher or want to get into corporate world use this as a stepping stone, don't expect to make a career....Read More

Boring and useless jobs with no engineering at all. Their tag line "Engineering Creativity" is a misnomer. Don't be fooled by it.
