I joined Sungard in Dec 2014 as a business analyst over the period of 6.5 years of my tenure with Sungard I changed 3 profiles and was promoted twice. Ever since I joined Sungard I have seen wave after wave of layoffs, started with laying off employees based out of US and Europe and filling up the same positions in India for the simple reason that the business wasn’t doing good and this was more of a cost cutting exercise. It came to a point where Sungard could not afford employees based out of India either and thus Indian staffers too were laid off. The layoffs still happen and it’s always the last in first out. It was a great work experience working with multiple stakeholders, many challenging, exciting projects all the time. Great learning by self and while working with team mates, stakeholders and delivering quality products at the same time.

No Job Secuirty, Work culture is good, Management does not know what they are upto thats the main reason for all the fall and recent firings, policies are too good. chill life if you work well and company is doing well ur safe, else you might get kicked out.

Overall I've been extremely lucky and blessed to have worked with some great colleagues and management, they've been quite supportive, loving and caring especially during my difficult times, exemplary humanitarians so to say. The work life balance is one of the best in Sungard AS, good technical exposure and ample training opportunities for the ambitious lot, very flexible and empathetic management. Appraisals and Salaries are also quite competitive, employees are well appreciated and rewarded for their hard work. Work environment is quite buzzing yet relaxed. You get to be around a hip and contemporary crowd. There are a lot of floor activities , pot lunches that happen on occasions and gives everyone an opportunity to bond with each other and express themselves, apart from this we have team outings which happen twice a year which gives us an opportunity to unwind. Coming to politics, it is an integral, rather an inseparable part of human existence, it's ubiquitous, so you'll find it in Sungard AS also, though it's not so pronounced here. Opportunities to travel are few,also it would be possibly great to introduce remote jobs as more and more companies are adopting that culture and gives employees flexibility to travel and work, atleast to the ones who've been there with Sungard for a while and whose jobs can be managed remotely.

Work Details

Work is hectic at times and sometimes boring, overall things balance out. Good thing is the management is quite flexible about the work hours and are rather more concerned about the deliverables, they are not much into micro-management.
