While I would have preferred not to answer this question, as it touches upon sensitive experiences, I respect Ambitionbox's request for candid feedback. Upon joining Star Cement in February 2020, I was enthusiastic and eager to learn, especially as I transitioned from a different industry into the manufacturing sector. The first twoyears were fulfilling as I immersed myself in learning and contributing to the organization. However, over the span of 4.9 years, certain experiences have been deeply disappointing. Despite being the most qualified individual (MBA) in the S&D department at the Lumshnong Plant, with over 65 employees, my contributions and efforts were neither acknowledged nor rewarded. I joined as a Junior Officer (M7) and, unfortunately, resigned in the same position without any career advancement. This stagnation is contrary to the assurance provided by the former HR, Mr. Sashikant Dubey, at the time of my joining, who had mentioned a potential promotion within three years. Further, I observed a lack of meritocracy in appraisals and promotions. Annual increments and advancements often seemed to favor individuals with personal ties to the department manager, regardless of their qualifications or contributions. I consistently received an "Exceeded Expectations" remark in appraisals, yet these ratings did not translate into monetary or professional growth. Adding to the frustration, I was regularly tasked with completing appraisal forms for over 65 employees—an administrative burden that was neither recognized nor rewarded. It became increasingly clear that my professional growth was not a priority for my manager, and the systemic bias within the department eroded my motivation and sense of belonging.
