Everything except the work, which is run by Disney. The Maritime Convention runs the rest of it, and you should prepare for some form of prison/military. You will constantly be on red alert listening for warnings and drills. I haven't slept deeply in months. There will be drills once a week in the blistering heat, donned in your life jacket and expected to stand out on the deck for an hour. I hated the cabins, they are tiny and barely big enough for one person let alone two. Make sure you get on with your cabin mate or life will become hell. Don't expect fancy food, either. It's the same food every day for all the weeks of your contract, and if you need special dietary requirements (even as simple as vegetarian!) forget about it. It's quite obvious the mess don't care, and you're not allowed food in your cabins so you can't even really cater for yourself. No drinks, either, and there's a strict regulation on what is allowed on-board so don't expect your family and friends to be able to send you anything. When they say the hours will be long, they will be. Your contract may say 70 hours but don't be surprised if you're working an average of 85 a week, with only a half an hour break a day. Living on a ship is very confining and there is very little opportunity to get some air. There is the open deck and the smoking deck, but if you want to go onto shore you will get about an hour to do so and that is the result of negotiation. You will be exhausted 24/7 and days will feel like weeks. Just big BRAND.. But in cruise industry very small contribution..

Working for various companies, I find very difficult to balance between work and life in Disney cruise line.so much turn over of the crew makes it very difficult to manage the work, there is no such policy to retain the crew..so much New crew . Top leadership don't pay much attention to crew.They act like dictator not a leader.. Thanks.

I’m happy be the part of Disney and this company is taking care of the entire crew. The management is rapidly trying to repatriate the crew from the ships because they do care for us. I love Disney.
