This place is just okay, that's about it - "bit" flexible timings, sat-sun off, colleagues are mostly fine (but every team will obviously have some jokers who'll be manager's favourite for being dumb), environment is overall good. There's no work from home policy but if you deal with Pearson US, Canada, Australia, that is anywhere ex cept India, then you "may" have work from home facility and lot more flexibility in the timings because of time zones. There's nothing extraordinary here except it's a brand so good for your resume, which is the only reason people stick for some years here....Read More

Politics, biasness...like I said, this place is no different. Salary/appraisals/bonus will never be satisfactory to anyone anywhere but for my team it's not that bad - can't say how it's for the entire company. My only suggestion is to know your true value and ask accordingly. If you t hink you deserve, for instance, 30k ask for 50k and don't settle for less than 45k. HR's job is to be company's cry baby and fake that they don't have the budget which is a lie. I can say that because I'm at a managerial level and we increase budget to even 70% if we've the right candidate. Never settle for less, do your research and ask NOT what YOU think is right but what your research says is right....Read More

Got Rejected In an Interview, Just Because I Didn’t Answer a Personal Question

So, I got invited for this interview, and they told me to be there at 9 AM. Of course, I get there early, like 8:30, because I don't want to be late. But then I end up waiting for 1.5 hours. Seriously, they didn't even acknowledge me until 10. Then this HR lady calls me in, and she's totally unprofessional. She's like, on her phone, making personal calls while I'm sitting right there. And then she starts asking me these really weird questions, like what my nickname is, and what my dad does for a living. It got really uncomfortable when she started pressing for details about where my dad works. I mean, what does that have to do with anything? So I politely told her I didn't want to answer, and she actually said, "Then we can't continue this interview." I was honestly shocked. But instead of arguing, I just stood up and said, “Alright then.” And walked out. I left feeling pissed. Not only did they waste an hour of my time, but the HR rep was also rude and unprofessional..
