My friend was interviewed here for 1 hour and in the end they encouraged her positively to ask any questions and suggestions she had. This is a good culture especially in the western countries to keep the session healthy, active and interactive. But it was absurd because when she started asking them smart questions and cool suggestions, they got offended, uncomfortable and scared of her knowledge. All were males and they had no answer to her questions. All they kept saying that they can't comment about it and maintained silence and murmured among themselves . Finally, they rejected her; most obviously because these men felt threatened that she was way more qualified and smarter than them ; they felt that she would overtake their post in future and out smart them and shine once she had joined. So, they declined her the post and took a less qualified fresher boy than her. And she is also a GATE qualified candidate with 8 yrs of experience in Genetics. Overworking and over pressurising is a norm. Lack of appreciation and creating a fear of job security to get work done is not the best environment to work in. No personal time or recognise the importance of it.
