Since it was already terrible work place for any rational person at HDFC Bank, after COVID hit, it became all the more miserable. They load with three resource's work to one person. That's how they have always operated in order to keep the costs low and profits more. even if you work day in day out you won't be able satisfy the management. Management is always in denial when it comes to mental stress of the employees. I tried communicating the same to the management but all they see you as a week person. They only care about people who can give them 24hrs to the firm. There is no respect for people who would demand for work life balance. They'd only shut you up by saying you're not competent to do the work in time. But such employees would be one or two people in the team right? not the whole team including the boss! They see you as a week person if you complain about the work load or as basic as work life balance. Like even little bit. HRs are the worst. I approached the HR for my issues with the team and I wanted to shift my domain within the organisation, imagine a VP level HR told me "Why did you even join the current profile at the first place if you're not able to work". Here HRs have no powers. They are too overloaded with work that they are only there to credit your salaries that's it! The culture is work work work and no play. In every occasion all they do is send a greeting in the mail. That's it! There are no other activities in the bank other than work.
